Help Me Understand my FA Situation :D

I'm trying to understand whether or not I am getting Cal Grants for all of my schools, and what it will replace if I do. UC Irvine and UC Davis are both givig me large school grants ($13,360 and $10,810, respectively). UCLA and UC Santa Barbara are both giving me small school grants ($4650 and $3167 respectively). UC Irvine and UC Davis don't say ANYTHING about me getting a Cal Grant in my FA, but both UCLA and UC Santa Barbara do point out the fact that I will get one. I am aware of the fact that no matter what school I go to, I WILL get the Cal Grant (ie, I won't get it JUST if I go to UCLA or UCSB, it doesn't work that way).

SO, if I go to UC Irvine, or UC Davis, and I get the Cal Grant, will the Cal Grant replace the loans that UCI and UCD are saying I need to get? Or will it replace the School grant, and I'll still have to take loans out??

bumping i am, replying you are

Did you make sure to list all those schools in your Cal Grant Verification GPA worksheet and FAFSA? It might have to do with that. Or they might not tell you about the Cal until you actually get it.

UCSD has it listed but it has the word “possible” next to it, because Cal Grants aren’t guaranteed, even if you meet the requirements.

You need to speak with each Financial Aid department individually about this. I know that at CAL, if you get a lot of school aid, you may not get the Cal Grant even if you qualify because you are already getting so much school aid. But, we cannot answer your question here. Only the Financial Aid office of the school you are applying to can answer specific questions about financial aid.
