My broOo0o

Alright, so my brother has heard from all of his schools already except Columbia University, it was the only reach school he applied for and he wants to know where he stands. I said I'd post this for him.

2060 SAT
3.5 GPA unweighted
Varsity sport 12 seasons
Environmental club (3 years)
Language Club (2 years)
Charity club (3 years)
8-10 APs (mostly 4-5's, got a 3 on one of them, not sure on the exact number of APs he took)
7 honors/accelerated classes
upward trend

Amazing recs + essays

And my dad went there for his masters?

White, male, 150k+ income

I don't know why he wants to know so bad, because the only reason he wanted to go here is because my dad loved it and made him apply, but whatever. Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure it is pretty much 2% chance but other opinions are always nice

His scores and GPA are both on the low side. While he has solid EC’s, there’s nothing special about them. I’d say he’d most likely be rejected. Sorry to be a downer here, but it’s the truth. On a brighter note, has he gotten accepted anywhere yet? :)

exactly what fledging said although the legacy may help him out. the SAT is actually good enough i would think although it is on the low side. with legacy, and perhaps a donation on your dad’s part will get him in. if not, it’s probably 50/50

I’d say chances of him getting in are between 20-30%, and i also apologize for being a debby downer
