Arrrgh. I just feel like I'm going to puke, I'm so disgusted they didn't let him in. I know that there is already a thread about what to do if you get rejected from your only school, but this is different.

Here is some backround about my brother. He graduated two years ago. I'm a senior now. He didn't apply to colleges his senior year for various reasons, the main being that he really wanted to go to VT but didn't think his stats were good enough. He had about a 3.1 GPA and 1800 SAT. Tried to do some classes at community college but that didn't work out so well, there were some problems I don't need to discuss. He's been working a lot mostly.

Anyways, this year, while I was looking at colleges, he decided he wanted to go to VCU. And he actually applied, which is a big step for him. But it was the only school he applied to. I got into my colleges (not really special or selective ones though), but he didn't get into his.

There are still schools that are still accepting: Longwood, UVA Wise College, and some out of state ones too. I'd like to try to gently guide him to apply to some of them, but I don't know how to approach it. He said he'd go to community college again(at a different campus), so I can continue to get the financial aid that is enabling me to go to the college I chose (we told FAFSA we'd have two college kids next year).

He was just so excited about going away to college and he's convinced that the only school worth going to is VCU. Should I even try to talk to him about other schools? I'm also a bit worried what will happen to my financial aid if he drops out of CC again. My mom have a good amount of savings for him for when he went but FAFSA doesn't know that they are for him and not for me.
