My Chance at University of Minnesota Carlson Business School after postponed decision

I received a letter from the U of M Twin Cities stating that "we have completed a very careful, individual review of your application. Based on an overall assessment of your application, we find that we are not yet able to make a decision on your application to Carlson Business School of Management and at this time your admission decision for fall 2009 has been postponed."

I know that I'm not the best student that can be accepted there especially since it is so hard to get in. I got a 25 on my ACT, ranked 116 in my class of 400, but I am a PSEO student and I'm graduating with 46 college credits under my belt. I live in Minnesota. My GPA for college is a 3.58.
I sent in a letter with my last semester grades at my PSEO college which were all A's and I also told them how I made the Dean's List at the college, and received 2 awards consecutively from my high school regarding my student achievement and integrity.

In regards to me being postponed, is it pretty likely that I would get accepted?

I'm actually surprised you aren't accepted already.

Maybe they are looking at the fact that you are essentially applying as a sophomore transfer student--and thus they are forwarding your application on the the "transfer admissions" group from the current "freshmen admissions" group. This group will probably admit you, but they may want to be sure that you have completed some of the normal "transfer student" pre-requisites--like freshman english composition or beginning accounting, or other stuff that most sophomore Carlson students would have already have taken by now. They may also ask you to complete a "transfer" application instead of a "freshman" application, and it may be that you were required to do that once you had taken over 30 units of college credit.

One other option is that they could admit you as a freshman, but then limit your college credits that transfer--like to 30 units or less. Either way, I'd consider calling and see if you can get some info from the admissions committee, just to find out what the situation is.

I'm pretty sure they aren't evaluating me as a transfer student because I was told to fill out the freshman application, which asks if you have taken any postsecondary courses. But if they do judge it on my transfer pre-requisites I have taken freshman comp., calculus 1, and macro economics, and I'm taking accounting 1 right now. So hopefully I'll get the letter soon!
It's just really nerve racking because the letter says they will respond by April 1st, which is still a while away.

I have also been postponed to carlson and am anxiously waiting to hear

ACT: 27
GPA: 3.91
rank: 51/807
4 AP classes
CIS economics throught the university of minnesota

Good luck

Most of my friends that were accpeted in to CSB had a minimum ACT of 29. I feel that it’s most likely your GPA that postponed your acceptance. In fact, to get into CLA, you would need an ACT of 26 (waitlist) and a 27 for immediate acceptance, based on friends’ experiences.
