I'm an Korean applying as a ninth grader for Exeter.
I have maintained my grades to all A's this year. 6th grade I had all As. however, in 7th grade, I had issues within my friends and so my grades dropped to AB which I will talk about in my essay.
I take all the honors classes possible: Spanish II and Geometry (2 years ahead)
I can speak 2 languages, and am off to learning my third language.
I am getting my interview on the tenth of December.
I'm just afraid of my SSAT, but everyone has been telling me that is a real minor thing for the application process; they just want to check how you do outside of school...?
I think I will get good recommendations.
EC:
piano 9 yr
violin 1 yr
tennis 6 yr
clarinet 1 yr
trumpet 1 yr
Cross country 3 yr
Volleyball 1 yr
Yearbook 1 yr
Ski/Snowboard 1 yr
Also, if my parents work for the government, my dad is a civilian, and I go to a school on base, is that an advantage or disadvantage?

Also, I did swimming for 1 year too.

SSAT is NOT a minor thing. It’s a huge factor. For Exeter you want to be above 93% in everything (private school, not national) for a good shot.

Grades are given differently at every high school. The SSAT is a way to see how students from different places compare.
