My chance to UCLA EE PHD?

Hi CC fellas,

I'm wondering how high my chance is of getting into UCLA EE PhD program.

I attended University of Rochester, NY. for my BSEE, also getting my Master's degree this spring from the same school.
Undergrad GPA: 3. 76/4.0, Master's GPA: 3.9/4.0
GRE: V560, Q800, AW 5.0
No papers published, but graduating with a Master's thesis.

I've heard a lot of people say that being excellent is not enough for schools like UCLA. You need to be exceptional. I've had several undergrad research experiences, but my major weakness is that I have no publications, which makes me less exceptional. My undergrad GPA is a bit weak too. So what's the odd of me getting into UCLA?

If your recommendations are pretty good you should be fine.

Speaking from my own experience, I had no publications but I got into EE PhD programs ranked higher than UCLA. This suggests to me that you have a shot at getting in.

Thank you fellas for your kinda replies. Now I have gained some confidence!

I think my recommendations are pretty solid too. I did research for one of the profs for a year, got the top grade in the class taught by the other, and the third prof is the head of the department who used to supervise our senior design.
