Grad School Admissions

Hello,

I intend on applying to UCLA this year for admission into the electrical engineering grad school program next fall. I also haven't taken the GRE yet.

I am writing to inquire about UCLA's electrical engineering graduate school admission process and would also appreciate it if I can get some pointers as to how top put my best foot forward with regards to application. I've heard that getting into grad school is really tough now as a result of the economic recession.

Also, any information about the GRE (studying and taking the exam) is much appreciated.

I graduated with an overall gpa of 3.6 and I am currently working as an electrical engineer with previous internship experience.

I just want to know how to improve my chances of getting admitted. any info is much appreciated.

thanks.

I am applying for a master’s degree and not a phd.

I know a few people that applied to PhD at UCLA in EE and they were all accepted, though unfunded. The system they were told was they had to fund their first two years, and they’d still have to get into the PhD program through a series of tests. They all got into other programs at a similar level while fully funded.

So, in other words, I think you’d have a good chance as long as you’re a solid applicant. I think UCLA uses their MS program as a way to bring in cash.
