I have yet to take the SAT...my GPA is 3.9 and class rank is #11 out of 1161 students, graduated with high honors. I'm also a member of the National Honor Roll. I have been a professional tennis player for 4 years, travelling the world and competing in Grand Slams and various professional tennis tournaments. I thought this may help me get in, and be a unique essay topic. What do you think my chances are? What SAT scores would I need to aim for? Thanks!!

As for SAT's, you should try for 1450+ on the Math/Verbal sections.. if you score in that range, you have a very good chance of getting in.

Your tennis EC will help you a lot.

<sarcasm></sarcasm>

Ooooh the National Honor Roll. I'm impressed.

I'm not able to play on the team because I played tennis professionally, but I would be interested in helping out with the team in any way that I can. Maybe that would help me get in

Ooooh the National Honor Roll. I'm impressed.

That came off as a little rude.

I thought so too

You gotta understand ... it's a scam/joke. That's why he said it that way.

Anywho! Protennis is awesome but don't write an essay about the "big win" after losing for so long and perserverence and stuffs.

So, don't write about that stuff?

Come on now, I'm not trying to be rude, but seriously everybody gets the National Honor Roll "recognition". It's cool if you want to send in your info so they can put you in the book with the countless thousand others but please don't list it as a major award.

But otherwise, class rank and GPA look outstanding and from what it sounds like you could be good enough to be recruited to play tennis for a D1 school with a program such as Duke's.
