My chances at Macalester?

Hi everyone!

I'm going to be a high school senior next year and while Macalester is by far my first choice, I'm not sure if I'm good enough. Thoughts?

GPA (UW): 3.85 (at a difficult school)
I've gotten all A's, besides:
Chemistry: S1 B+, S2 B-
Honors Algebra 2: S1 B, S2 C+ (ouch!)
Precalculus: S1 A-, S2 B+
Physics: S1 B, S2 A-

I've taken honors and AP English and History all three years.

I got a 5 on my AP tests in English Language, World History, U.S. History; and a 4 in Spanish Language.

SAT: 2280

~4 yrs. rowing; captain
~4 yrs. environmental club
~3 yrs. National Honors Society
~8 yrs. piano
~talented artist with works to show

Does that seem reasonable?

Thanks!

Do you live in MN? i think you have a good chance at macalester

No, I live in Washington, but according to their website, Macalester doesn’t care about geographic diversity within the U.S.

Thanks!!

fellow mac applicant here!
mac isn’t a state school, why would they care about geographic diversity within US lol? in any case, “talented artist with works to show” is what has to work for you. make sure you dedicate effort into making sure your talent is noticed. NHS doesn’t mean anything anymore. rowing, environmentalism, music, art - nice mix of ECs. good GPA, good SAT, good APs. i’d say you’re in if you’re applying ED (which you should be, considering how mac’s your first choice). in any case, good luck.
