My chances at Penn. need help and suggestions.

I'm considering applying to university of pennsylvania and maybe 1-2 other Ivies and I was wondering if I have any chance at all. I graduate in 2012 from HS.

My Stats:
I live 25 miles away from Philadelphia
3.62 cumulative GPA unweighted
2020 on the PSAT converted to SAT out of 2400 Taking SAT prep classes, hopefully my score will be in the 2100-2200

APs: Biology, European history, literature

1st term GPA: 4.2, 2nd term GPA (in progress): 4.25. I hope to have a 3.95 GPA (cumulative) by the end of this year.

Extra curriculars: I play basketball for my school and I play AAU bball as well, I'm 16, 6'5 and 195lbs (recruiting purpose only lol). I am part of future business leaders of america club in school, I volunteer at my local YMCA, I have gone to the regional science fair twice; I have won over $500 total, planning to make it this year as well. I am planning to volunteer at a hospital over the summer and get involved at my church's youth group that I am a part of.

Opinions and suggestions?

It’s going to be a significant reach if you don’t get your GPA higher.

Get the GPA up, and take subject tests when the information is still fresh in your mind (ie math 2 at the end of a precal course).

Good luck!

Hopefully my GPA will get at least .25 higher this year… If not I might as well not apply unless I get a 2200+ on my SAT and become an Ivy league basketball prospect which is as unlikely as me getting a 3.9 cumulative GPA.

You’re from Philly; that is a huge benefit!

Become President of your FBLA Chapter and get your Chapter attendance doubled. Qualify in FBLA for State and for Nationals. You have the time to focus on the latter two between now and March.

From Philly / possible basketball recruit? You’re in.

Yeah but I’m not THAT good at basketball. maybe if I become 6’7 or something I’ll be a recruit lol. I was thinking of applying at an unpopular major and then switching to something I want to do like biology, chemistry, or history.
