Please chance me at these schools:

Rice (applying ED)
Penn
Cornell
University of Southern California
Johns Hopkins
University of Virginia
University of Michigan - Ann Arbor
Virginia Tech
Purdue University
University of Florida

Thank you. :)

Rice is critical on rank... so that might be a reach

Haha, well, maybe I can squeeze into the 17% of students NOT in the top 10% of their class since I'm applying ED.

Any others?

^ Yeah, but, they generally have good hooks. I am sorry, but your chances don't look great. You have nice solid SAT and ACT scores, but ECs seem on the weak end. You need to get into the top 10 percent or apply RD to most of those competetive schools. Good luck :)

Rice, Cornell, and Penn Reaches...should be ok for the rest

you're in at UF :)

I wish, but it's a bit late for that now, isn't it? And I don't see how applying RD would help?

Ah, how my freshman year continues to haunt me. Oh well. Maybe I can write a killer essay on it or something. :)

Also, would being an immigrant/first-generation college student be considered a "hook?"

Bump, anyone else?

Oh, forgot to note - my GPA shows a positive upward trend, especially in junior year, and my recommendations should be excellent. (:

Being from FL helps RU but as said by everyone else your GPA and Class Rank need work

UVa is probable, maybe WL because you're just outside the 10% mark they covet.
Penn is always a reach.
Cornell is a lesser reach, I'd say far more reasonable.
UF is probable.
Virginia Tech is very probable. You should get that comfortably.
