is there a way to find out the average gpa of the admitted applicants?

Which population are you looking for, akbar? Freshmen admissions or transfers?
For freshman they posted this:

class rank:
Percentage of all enrolled, degree-seeking, first-time, first-year (freshman) students who had high
school grade-point averages within each of the following ranges (using 4.0 scale). Report information
only for those students from whom you collected high school GPA.
Percent in top tenth of high school graduating class
Percent in top quarter of high school graduating class
Percent in top half of high school graduating class
Percent in bottom half of high school graduating class
Percent who had GPA between 2.50 and 2.99
Percent who had GPA between 2.0 and 2.49
Percent who had GPA below 1.0
Percent who had GPA between 1.0 and 1.99
Percent who had GPA of 3.75 and higher
Percent who had GPA between 3.50 and 3.74
Percent who had GPA between 3.25 and 3.49
Percent who had GPA between 3.00 and 3.24

C11 65.03%
C11 20.82%

C11 1.93%
C11 0.83%
C11 0.23%

(this isnt copying well – see pg 16 on the cds http://www.irp.gatech.edu/sites/www.irp.gatech.edu/files/Final%20CDS2009_2010%20%20effective%2006-17-2010_0.pdf )

and for transfers there is a minimum requirement:
D7 If a minimum college grade point average is required of
transfer applicants, specify (on a 4.0 scale): 2.7 Resident, 3.0 Non-Resident, 3.5 International*

Thanks for the link, I was actually looking for stats of transfer applicants since i have applied as a transfer student. Noone seems to have the exact stats for each year(tech says they dont collect data for transfer students). I did however find this link:
http://www.hyperion.gatech.edu/reports/irp/Transfer-in_GPA_PDF.pdf
Doesn’t help much, but at least it gives an idea of the average transfer gpa in each major

Where’d ya find that akbar?? Interesting data.

I found it in an old thread in this forum, gotta love google. Seems like they are mailing out acceptance letters for spring 2011 transfers already, two of my friends just got theirs yesterday.

So I just made a 30 composite score on my SAT…this is the person that started the thread btw. That’s smack-dab in the middle 50%, so I feel very relieved!

Does anyone know their policy on ACT? They say they only consider English, Math, and combined English/Math…Don’t you think that’s a bit odd? I made a 30 on Math and a 31 on English, and the combined part hasn’t come out yet. So will they solely take those three parts and make a new composite score or what?
