also, will take AP's in chemistry, french, physics, and possibly calculus

If you guys want to know your chances why don't you start a new thread....

bloated_fetus: You won't get into Harvard or Yale with those stats. 2250 is pretty bad for even for Stanford. You need to try and get somewhere around a 2300. Also, your ECs are decent but not exceptional.

Tami, my cousins live in littleton, but they graduated like 5 years ago, and my other cousins are only like 6th grade. Doubt you know em, but Littleton...you guys had the shootings. My cousins were in school when it happened, scary crap.

supposing i get about 2350, will i have a chance in yale or harvard?

2250 is generally fine for HYPS. It equals 1500 if you multiply it onto the 1600 scale and is actually slightly better due to the addition of another section. The Math and Critical Reading scores are what are really important; writing will have some effect, but it will probably have the same weight as an SAT II and schools will be flexible with these scores because its the first time this writing section is being used. The scale for the new Writing section is much harsher than the SAT II Writing and percentiles for the test are not available, so colleges don't have much of a basis to use this score in the admissions process.

yes 2250 is about the average for HYPS IF you include the scores of athletes, URMs, or people with amazing ECs (I don't think vietnamese is considered a URM, but I could be wrong). However, Bloated_fetus is an average applicant whose main advantage is his grades/test scores. Therefore, to have a serious chance at HYPS, he should definitely aim for a higher score.

would i have much of a chance at John hopkins uni as a pre-med?
