Based on the following information, what chances do I have of getting accepted to UCB or UCLA

Average 10-11 GPA: 4.35
SAT I: 1990 ( probably end up with around 2000-2050)
SAT II math: 700
SAT II biology: 680
SaT II chemistry 620 ( I know... I took it as a freshman)

you have low SAT scores. Especially for Berk and UCLA - are you from California? Even if you're from CA, I'd say its a reach. The low SAT scores make it look like your school was easy.

I don't understand why you, and many other people, think that 2000 is too low for Berkley! the average SAT score for incoming Freshman at berkley in 2005 was 1350. 2000/2400 is about a 1340. That means that a little less than 50% who will be attending Berkley scored a 1340. And My Grades are probably higher than the other 1340's...... So why can't I get in!

First of all, you have to realize that many of the applicants have "unique" qualities such as strong ec's (class president, volunteer work, etc) or they could be athletic. Also, some people may have a legacy or "connection." These are people that do not need a very high SAT score. I'm assuming you don't have any of those hooks, so based on your SATII and SAT scores, I'd say your chances are decent at best.

I know you probably want me to say that I disagree with all the other poster's and that Berkeley and UCLA are safeties for you... but that's just not the case. Anytime your SAT is below the median you're screwed. Granted you have a strong GPA, but you need to have both. Frankly, unless you have some big time wonderful thing you've done that you haven't told us, or you take the SAT again and raise your score (which I would suggest), I would be surprised if you get in. Maybe waitlisted??

getting up to 2100 does not make you a match for both. LA, in particular, cares a lot about ECs. Yes, you need to improve the SAT II, but you also need to do something beyond GPA and SAT. Up to 2100 and better SAT II would make it a Match-Reach, but definitely not a match.
