My chances at UGA RD?

After reading so many forums and stats, I've been getting worried. I just want to get a good idea of my chances!
GPA: 3.34 UW, 3.78 W
SAT: 1820 (630 W, 600 CR, 590 M), 1190 CR+M
ACT: 26 (It would be 27 but I didn't send in my second score report..is it too late?)
Class rank: 188/506

I will have taken 10 AP classes and all honors/accelerated (like Spanish and math) by the time I graduate. What really killed my GPA was all Cs in my accelerated math courses (not my best class decisions). But I'm taking AP Stat now which is much better.

ECs: Beta Club, Orchestra for 4 years (also an officer), Shelter Club, Asian American Association, Robotics, MD Junior, Tri-M Music Honors Society, National Social Studies Honor Society, Crafts for Care, Language Club, and Science Olympiad. (Sports aren't my forte).
I volunteer regularly at the local animal shelter and miscellaneous events like Veterans Day parades, museums, school events, and soup kitchens.

My only "job" would be regularly mowing lawns for 3 years. Not under any actual business.

Don't know if this affects anything but I had my late grandfather stay with my family for a little under 2 years and he required absolute 24/7 care. My family were his regular caregivers and he really inspired me. So much so that I wrote one of my essays about him!

I believe my teacher recs were pretty solid and same goes for 3/4 of my short essays (in retrospect, one could have been better).
Last tidbits, I'm male, Asian and first generation....

Thanks so much for any replies!

Well your GPA and your SAT is a little below their average, but not so much as to put you out of the running. Your ECs are nice though and if you wrote great essays id put you at a high match.

My thread (chance me please): http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1610985-chances-for-vanderbilt-unc-nyu-uf-and-duke.html#latest</a>

I believe UGA superscores the ACT. I would suggest sending the other scores ASAP. It cannot hurt.

I think you should still send in the ACT. If your instate then its a match, out of state should also be a high match. Just send in the ACT and I believe you should get accepted. Good luck.
chance me please

High Match
However, I worry about your essay. Was it focused on how your grandfather affected you or was it about your grandfather and how great is and your experiences with him? The reason why I ask this is: Colleges want to hear about YOU… not your family members. IF you happened to write about a family member, then you need to discuss how they affected YOU and their impact on YOU as a person. The whole essay needs to be very self centered. Just my thought on the subject.

My essay was mostly about me and how he brightened up my days. I wrote about his personality and his character, both of which I try to emulate daily. I suppose it was mostly about me when it all ties together.

High/ perfect match- your ec’s are great, and I think they kind of make up for your grades.
I think they have some thing where you can email your more recent accomplishments that might influence their decision- so go ahead and send that new score in! Good luck!

Calculated my gpa on the UGA scale; it gets a little bit higher at a 3.41. Don’t really know if this changes anything but we’ll see!

Hi! Your GPA and SAT scores are slightly below the 25%-50% admittance rate range for students. However, you extracurriculars are good and a strong essay can go very far. Keep working hard and u can get there!
