In high school I blew off my grades. I made two D's, both in my junior year. Aside from that I pretty much have all C's. By the time I graduate I will have taken only 4 honors classes and 3 AP's. I also have next to nothing EC's. I was wondering what my chances will be of getting accepted into UNC Chapel Hill as a junior transfer if I maintain a 3.5 or above in community college. My high school GPA is a 2.6 uw and 2.75 weighted.

If you maintain a GPA above 3.5 in community college, I’m sure you’ll be able to get in. It’s not like UNC’s applicant pool is very strong, especially for transfer students. I have a friend who got in from my high school with a GPA around 2.8 and relatively low test scores (like 1900 SAT). Of course, I’m from the UAE, and his dad is an oil sheik who made a rather sizeable donation to the university! So if you have some money to give them, that will definitely help as well!

Thank you so much! UNC is honestly the only school I want to attend.

Also, do you know if your friend took many honors or AP’s in high school? Any info will help.

The counselors let you take AP and honors with your Cs and Ds?
Anyway, I think it only depends on your grades in community college, I could be wrong though.

Also, I would recommend against buying your way in.

They still take your high school grades into consideration which is unfortunate in my case since senior year is the only year I will have done great in. Or, at least acceptable to UNCs standards.
