So im an incoming senior, Currently attending a really academically challenging public school with one of the top API scores in the nation. It's in northern cal, silicon valley, bay area.

I really messed up my Junior year really bad, and because of my D in Pre-calc Honors for both semesters, My GPA suffered badly.

However, I love CSULB, and I feel like I'll really fit in there if my grades allow me, so what are the chances of getting into it for biology with....

UW GPA: 3.2

W GPA: 3.45

SAT: 1820

APBIO was my only AP :/

I have other extra-curriculars [do they look at them?]
Taking ACT coming sept- [what should I aim]

But yea, disappointed with high school, but Just hoping something works out :/

Looking at all other threads on here, I really get the feeling like I'm very under qualified.... but still hoping... what are my chances?

Thank You!

Any advice is dearly appreciated! And, If there are any other cal universities that would best suit my grades, PLease let me know? Anything like cal poly SLO, or any other state ones which are still reputable. My family being a conservative indian one ofcourse, will not let allow me to attend community colleges, or something like csu SF. :(

I think you have a good shot. you may also want to look at these schools cal poly Pomona, csuf, csula, and sdsu.
I am a bio major at csuf and they have a pretty good bio department and a linkage program to a few medical schools. good luck.

lol, Umm, yea definitely, UC’s obviously sound better to them, but I personally dont want to attend uc merced or uc riverside, My AIM used to UC santa cruz, but I’m not sure about my chances there now.
