My Chances for EA (2014)

<p>I plan on applying Early Action to University of Michigan at Ann Arbour for Nuclear Engineering. I would appreciate it if someone could let me know my chances.</p>

<p>School Ranking - 1st in Nigeria</p>

1. President of Tutoring Club (Also founder)
2. President of Badminton Club (Also founder)
3. President of Table Tennis Club
4. Part of Environment Club
5. President of Education for all (Teaches people in slums and government schools)
6. Highschool Tennis
7. Maths Club
8. Founder of Comedy Club
9. Led AIDS, Schizofrenia, Cancer and Child Labour awareness programmes in slums in Nigeria and India
10. Interned and taught at a school for spastics (10 weeks)
11. Taught at schools for high school dropouts, and child labour victims in Nigeria and India (8 Weeks)
12. Interned at an IT firm (6 weeks)
13. Helped an NGO in India in slum redevelopment (Help with distribution of food, and medicine, teaching and rehabilitation of the elderly)</p>

<p>Disregarding the quality of my essay and Teacher Recommendations, do I have a realistic chance here?

<p>International admissions are always the most competitive. Ideally, your GPA would be higher, though if UofM knows the rigor of your school then they might let it slide. Get your SAT up by another 100 points or so.</p>

<p>Not many qualified Nigerians apply to Michigan’s CoE. I would say match.</p>
