Hi there. I wanted to ask the people on this forum some questions. I have all straight A’s and a 2350 on my SATs and so on…

My question is on how much publishing novels would help us on the admissions process.

Since I live in Africa and can’t publish a book in the US, I have written a suspense mystery novel of about 400 pages in my local language. It is on publication right now. And I hope it will be out for sell in the coming month. Also I have gotten some great reviews from two of the top bestselling authors in my country. The one which sold almost 2.5million copies of his latest book in the past two years has written a review of me being the leading writer of my generation and how I have proved this only by writting my first book yet at the age of 18.

But as I have read through this thread it seems all this can’t help me that much. Can it? I have done all this partly because I thought I had the talent and needed to be the youngest published author in my country, but mostly to help me for my Stanford’s admission.I would have written a book in English but I figured it wouldn’t get published, at least not so fast to reach the app deadline. Besides I wouldn’t have gotten reviews from someone well known.

And I also happen to have the best acadamic stats with so many ECs and a true passion for writting.

Can this help me get into Stanford. Any advise would be great.

Thank you in advance.
