Hi I'm currently a ucsc student planning to transfer to either UCLA,
Berkeley, ucsd, ucsb, or Stanford after my second year because UCSC doesn't offer Mech. Eng.

-GPA so far for first year: 3.9
-Most GE's completed, will have all completed prior to transfer.
-Major requirements for mech. eng. will be met for the most part, except
for recommended courses in Eng. that aren't offered in UCSC such as
eng. Statics/ Materials.
-Extra credits: Not much, have never been involved in anything during
high school and been too busy studying in college to do E.C. stuff. Will do
some volunteering this summer.
-SAT: Not important for UC's but Stanford looks at them... 1980 SAT reasoning Test (690 Math, 700 Writing, 590 Reading). 720 SAT II Math 2.
590 SAT II Physics. I can retake the SAT's in October and I think I can pull
off much better scores.
-Will write a good essay this summer.

I can also apply for Physics major (because I will meet all the prereq's both
for Physics and Mech.eng.), but I'm not sure if I would be able to transfer
to Mech Eng. after getting accepted. I'm also considering double majoring
in these two so maybe I could get accepted as physics major and then
add mech. eng. after I'm in?

Anyways how does all this look?
