Advice for transferring

Hi I'm currently a ucsc student hoping to transfer to one of the top schools,
including NYU, Stanford, and Columbia, UCLA, UCB, etc...

-College GPA so far for first year: 3.9
-High School GPA: 3.42
-Most GE's completed, will have all completed prior to transfer.
-Major requirements for mech. eng. will be met for the most part, except
for recommended courses in Eng. that aren't offered in UCSC such as
eng. Statics/ Materials.
-Extra credits: Played 1st clarinet/ sax in high school symphonic band for 2 years. 5-6 years private clarinet lessons. Performed at concerts, went on
competitions with band. Some participation in Italian Club. Will do some volunteering this summer.
-Work experience: Waiter, 4 months. Valet, 4 months.
-SAT: 1980 SAT reasoning Test (690 Math, 700 Writing, 590 Reading). 720 SAT II Math 2. 590 SAT II Physics.
-Essay will be top of the line.

Anyways how does all this look?

It looks like you haven't spent much time actually working.

True I could have spent more time working. You think this is going to
bring down my chances of getting accepted?

are you a minority?

No im not a minority. Something tells me you guys dont like my app. lol

your G.P.A so far is very good, but it's a crapshoot with some of those schools and noone can really predict whether or not you'll get in. There's some guy on here who had a 3.3 G.P.A.
