We have our own basic, 2.5 weeks long starting mid-july.

GPA may be a little on the low side for the prep school but i've seen a couple here who had around the same gpa that you have.

Yea you would have to go through prep basic and then BCT the following summer.

It's alot easier than highschool (imo) academically.

its 80 percent entrance to usafa because many leave (ppl are droppin by flies around here lately). Some get kicked out for dumb reasons or very...VERY low grades.

It's really hard not to get to usafa if you show effort and let them know that you are trying.

Any other questions drop me a line as I'm a preppie this year and hopefully will be attending usafa next year.

I got my offer in late january to the prepschool

After basic we had our ipods... later on fones were given to us for the weekends. after parents weekend we were allowed to wear civilian clothes on the weekends and mandatory weekend meals were gone.

This year they introduced the concept of Privilege Phases. We are in Phase 3 right now ( =D ).

During the week its pretty strict but on the weekends now they pretty much leave us alone (movies, video games are allowed on weekends) as long as no rule is broken.

how about my chances now? I just finished the Semester with 5 A's and 3 B's with 6 honors courses and the semester GPA was 3.8, Do you think if the academy sees how much I improved myself would my chances go up alot?

No one here can answer that question with more than a guess. The decision will be ,ade by the Admissions Board, and a lot of factors will be considered. There are obvious things you can do to make yourself the best candidate you can be. KEEP YOUR GRADES UP, test good on the SAT/ACT, be active in a sport, and serious about an extra-curricular. That said make sure your ALO knows your situation, and improvement.
