My chances for Vandy

I have yet to take the SAT...my GPA is 3.9 and class rank is #11 out of 1161 students, graduated with high honors. I'm also a member of the National Honor Roll. I have been a professional tennis player for 4 years, travelling the world and competing in Grand Slams and various professional tennis tournaments. I thought this may help me get in, and be a unique essay topic. What do you think my chances are? What SAT scores would I need to aim for? Thanks!!

Offer to help coach the tennis team and you can probably just sign your name and take the 200 points per SAT section and get in. If you do not want to coach, then buy a copy of USNews'America's Best Colleges 2007 edition for ten dollars and look up Vanderbilt's SAT range= 1280 to 1460 out of 1600 possible points;then you would need about 1300 out of 1600 or approximately 650 per section.( You get 200 points for signing your name so maybe you can just sign 7 or 8 times for a really good score.)

Ya dude you're definately in, so long as do do at least average on the SAT, and you have some APs or something, because a 3.9 is not really impresive if you only take really easy classes.

I know a lot about tennis and I am going to Vanderbilt next year. The Vandy mens team upset Clemson yesterday, but is still likely to be in the lower third of the SEC. SEC tennis is incredibly strong right now and many of the schools are loaded with foreign nationals. Vanderbilt's chancellor is explicitly against this trend and has been vocal in his opposition. South African native Ian Duvenhage is the coach and the team is in a rebuilding mode (and I'm hoping to be part of that). The women's coach is Geoff Macdonald and their team is and has been stronger than the men for several years.

Would you mind giving a little more insight into your tennis background? Also, when did you attend high school as your grades and rank, if achieved several years ago, may not be that relevant which would make your SAT scores very critical.
