either make big imporvemtns or just go for a state college

Alright a few pieces of advice...

first of all, it is not wise to take SAT II's during your freshman and sophmore years unless you have AP or IB classes and that seems unlikely at that young of an age. SAT II's should be reserved for your junior year in may, preferably right after your AP exams. Especially since you got an 85 in freshman bio.

In addition, it is too early to evaluate if you will get into a top college because you havent taken the SAT yet and we have not seen your junior schedule. You need to take the toughest schedule possible and do very well on the SAT.

If you are talking about "top schools" as in HYPMS, you also need a lot more to your application, a "hook" of sorts. People get angry when you post a chances thread with no specific colleges, no SAT score, and at such a young age.

i specifically interested in:
new york university
harvard
cornell
columbia
brandeis

o and i dont think im too young to think about college. and i got my junior year schedule. i am taking 5 honors classes and one AP class. if ppl get upset at my post that is their problem. (i dont mean any offense to anyone)

Your UW GPA and class rank are a bit low for the Ivy league. I would strongly recomend against taking SAT IIs until you are sure you can do well on them.

thanks, but i think i may also need a lotmore extracurricular as well.

You need good ECs. A laundery list of generic ECs will do nothin to help you at the Ivy League.

Do you have your psat scores from sophomore year, or any indication of what your score will be on the sat? if you dont do very well on them, you will have a hard time getting into the ivies. as of now, though, your application doesnt look so bad. and as for ECs, i agree with Billhpike. Colleges look for the ones youre really passionate about, not a list of things you did to pad your application.

Totally wrong not to take satiis before junior year. Taken them right after you finish the class if you iknow you're prepared.

^^^ I don't think a regular biology class is adequate preparation for the SAT II bio.

I think test taking scores increase with maturity, therefore math SAT II's should be taken after a good honors precalc course because thats what math2 teaches.

AP courses are generally the best prep for SAT II's and its the best when you take an SATII and an AP exam close to one another so the material is fresh.

Agreed, no way in hell I would have gotten 750 for the Biology SAT II without taking AP Biology.

my sophomore PSAT scores were:

Critical reading: 570
Math:600
Verbal: 670
