My chances.. if anyone looks here

-In-state- Asian Male
GPA: 3.27(unweighted)
Including senior year: 6 AP classes, 4 Honors classes, and 4 years of Foreign Language

Community Service: Aprox. 170+ hours

Clubs: French Club (2 years- will be Vice P next year), Committee (4 years- outside of school, was elected leader this past year, and will be again next year)

Sports: Bball in 9th, probably wont even include it in the APP

SAT: 1720 (I was feeling pretty bad that day, expecting 1950+ in Fall)

Thanks.

What is your class rank? If you’re in the top 10%, I think you qualify for assured admission.

I think your odds are pretty good, and if you raise the SAT score as expected they become excellent.

You’ll probably get in… unless they see your username.

noimagination- look at my GPA, I’m probably in the top 50% range. And lol shishka. I honestly think I would go to Bellevue College over WSU… Just wanted to hear some thoughts.

is WSU a bad school? i haven’t researched much about it but it seemed like an okay safety school. But then again, i’m from Boston so i don’t know the local knowledge. What are the bad aspects of it?

^ It has an okay rep in the Pacific NW. Academics in communications, architecture, civil engineering, and veterinary sciences are all very strong. Everyone I know who has gone to WSU loves it there.

Disadvantages? The location is very rural, which isn’t inherently bad but might be a bit of a shock coming from Boston. Reputation back on the East Coast will probably be nonexistent. Unless you get a scholarship, I can’t imagine that it would be worth paying OOS tuition. UMass is actually a better school in most areas.

I’d consider WSU if you want to study in its areas of strength, like the rural east WA location, or get merit money.

BTW, Pullman is not like Seattle or the stereotypical image of Washington. It’s temperatures are more extreme and there is far less precipitation. Picture wheat fields, not evergreens.

You should get in. I had the exact same SAT score and a very similar GPA (3.31) and I got in with a little scholarship money too.

Thanks for the replies. I posted this a long time ago when I was still brainstorming colleges to apply to. I have decided to not apply anymore, since I already got into Gonzaga + Seattle U. I’m also waiting on UW’s response. Plus, I don’t want to live in Pullman :P

Pullman rocks, though. :frowning: It’s the number one town in Washington to raise children. Okay, fine. I’m biased because it’s my hometown. Still, there’s nothing wrong with it if you enjoy awesomeness. :|

I went there once during my Freshman year of HS when my sister was doing college visits. It seems like a “small” town that has a “homey” type of feel. I think I would be a better fit in a big city like Seattle.

Just messing around. I go to UW, myself (I wanted to experience new things, etc.).
