noimagination- look at my GPA, I’m probably in the top 50% range. And lol shishka. I honestly think I would go to Bellevue College over WSU… Just wanted to hear some thoughts.

is WSU a bad school? i haven’t researched much about it but it seemed like an okay safety school. But then again, i’m from Boston so i don’t know the local knowledge. What are the bad aspects of it?

^ It has an okay rep in the Pacific NW. Academics in communications, architecture, civil engineering, and veterinary sciences are all very strong. Everyone I know who has gone to WSU loves it there.

Disadvantages? The location is very rural, which isn’t inherently bad but might be a bit of a shock coming from Boston. Reputation back on the East Coast will probably be nonexistent. Unless you get a scholarship, I can’t imagine that it would be worth paying OOS tuition. UMass is actually a better school in most areas.

I’d consider WSU if you want to study in its areas of strength, like the rural east WA location, or get merit money.

BTW, Pullman is not like Seattle or the stereotypical image of Washington. It’s temperatures are more extreme and there is far less precipitation. Picture wheat fields, not evergreens.

Thanks for the replies. I posted this a long time ago when I was still brainstorming colleges to apply to. I have decided to not apply anymore, since I already got into Gonzaga + Seattle U. I’m also waiting on UW’s response. Plus, I don’t want to live in Pullman :P

Pullman rocks, though. It’s the number one town in Washington to raise children. Okay, fine. I’m biased because it’s my hometown. Still, there’s nothing wrong with it if you enjoy awesomeness. :|

I went there once during my Freshman year of HS when my sister was doing college visits. It seems like a “small” town that has a “homey” type of feel. I think I would be a better fit in a big city like Seattle.
