My chances of acceptance into UCLA and others?

I have been thinking a lot lately about whether I am going to be accepted into UCLA or not and was wondering what you guys think? I am a California resident and have a non weighted gpa of 3.95 and a weighted gpa of 4.39, but, I have a low SAT score of only 1170. However I believe I do have a strong application. I was a California Boy’s State delegate and am apart of many extracurricular activities. Although I do not play sports, I have been apart of Key Club the past four years secretary junior year president senior year, CSF life time member, Link crew leader, top 10, Awana Church youth leader, ASB, Every 15 minutes, environmental club, Vice President of Spanish Club, and numerous community service events in my local community I.e. angle tree prison fellowship and serving at the homeless shelters on holidays. I have taken 6 of the 9 AP courses provided at my school and in my fourth year of Spanish (AP Spanish literature) as I passed my AP Spanish exam last year. I don’t know if this helps but I am also low income, first time generation college student and Hispanic. I also applied to CSU Chico, CSULB, SJSU, Cal Poly, SDSU, UCLA, UCD, UCSB and UCSD. I have already been accepted to Chico and Long Beach. Let me know what you guys think, thank you.

Did you do SAT preparation? This does seem to be your weak point.

I don’t think your SAT is competitive for most of the UC’s you have listed. What has your guidance counselor advised?

No, when applying to public colleges in California, GPA and SAT scores are king.

The California public schools cannot use ethnicity to admit (Affirmative action), because it is against the law in California. The private schools will consider that information.
Your EC’s will not compensate for your test scores. If you can take the SAT again, and get that score up, you might have a better chance.
Right now, I think you might get into Riverside and Merced.

Unfortunately I am not able to take the SAT again as it is past the deadline date for UCs. Thank you guys for your input. I’m hoping for the best.
