My chances of acceptance?

Hi. I am New York State Resident. I am senior currently attending Louis D. Brandeis High School. I have 84 GPA. On the SAT, I received a 630 for Math, and 460 on Critical Reading. For a total score of 1090/1600. For the ACT, I received a 27 for Math, 26 for Reading, 24 for Science, 20 for English and 19 for Writing, and a composite score of 24. Based on just my performance demonstrated here, could I received feedback on what my chances of admission are to University at Buffalo? I plan on majoring in Computer Engineering and Computer Science. Thank you.

Your level is enough for acceptance into SUNY Buffalo, but I don’t know about the engineering department.

dam, buffalo was my first choice college, i spoke with someone from Buffalo and they informed me, that people with lower grades than me got accepted

Yeah, but Engineering departments have a completely different sector for admissions. Your Math scores in SAT/ACT are higher, so I’d say you still have a strong shot at admission. When I originally said I don’t know about your acceptance chances into Buffalo Engineering, I wasn’t trying to imply that it was unlikely. I literally meant that I didn’t know. :P

Either way, the odds are in your favor. Good luck!

I’m also rank 28/181

As long as I get accepted I shall be okay with the outcome.

Engineering is much harder to get into, and have average stats of 93 GPA and 1260 SAT. I’ve seen 1200 being a minimum too. You would have a better chance getting into computer science. Take the higher level calculus classes and you would be on the same track for computer engineering. Good luck, let us know what happens…

Alright, well currently I am taking AP Calculus and AP English. I just recently dropped AP Biology, due to the fact, that I wasn’t learning anything there. But taking these AP courses should boost my chances a bit.
