Hi I'm currently a junior at a public high school near Chicago, Illinois and I was just curious about my chances of getting into a prestigious university!
MY GPA is currently 4.7 weighted, 4.0 unweighted. I've always gotten straight A's. My freshmen and sophomore year i took 3 honor classes each year, and this year i have 3 AP; Calc AB, Lang & Comp, and APUSH, along with 4 honor classes; CNA, Anatomy, Physics, and Spanish. However, i have never taken an AP test before, but i will in may.
The first time I took my ACT i got a 28, but I didn't study. I have been studying for the next ACT i will be taking in a few weeks.
I also maintain a part time job at a nursing home. I've played soccer all three years at my school and also play outside of school and a pretty good club. I also ref youth soccer games on the side.
For extracurriculars, I participate in the peer tutoring program at my school, mathletes, I Am The Difference (community service club), NHS, and HOSA. I have a lot of volunteer hours; around 100-150.
Do you think my ACT score will hold me back from getting into good schools?
I was looking into UChicago, Northwestern, Loyola, UIC, Depaul, or Roosevelt.
Thanks!

Oh and I’m interested in going into Pre-Med!

I think you will have a great chance at UIUC since you are in state and the admission rate is very high as long as you are not applying to engineering. UIUC is better than UIC. For NU or UChicago, you do need a lot better score in ACT.

I think the only ones that are not matches for you right nw are Northwestern and UChicago. A 28 would hold you back from UChicago, and maybe Northwestern, too. If you improve your ACT, I think Northwestern would be a match/high match and UChicago would be a high match/low reach.

Chance back
