Hi :) I Just finished my application a couple days ago and turned in my transcript request form and here are my academic stats

2040 sat

4.07 weighted gpa from my school (Btw, will Tulane re-calculate, take my unweighted, or weighted)

I have like 650 service hours
been in some clubs, the bulk of my hours is from volunteering at my local hospital every week some hours, for 3 years now although I did do FEA and some other service

i'm half hispanic if that matters

my essays were ok I made it clear tulane was my top choice

I'm sort of nervous because I didn't upload my resume document...I decided to just try and describe every activity instead of just uploading the resume but I'm regretting that now and it won't let me upload it now....sigh

Tulane will do your unweighted GPA, but I am sure you are OK there. How many AP courses have you taken and are taking now? Your SAT score is fine, just a bit above Tulane’s average.

Noting yourself as Hispanic does make some difference. Tulane’s Hispanic population is not very high compared to some of its peer schools.

I wouldn’t worry about the resume, it sounds like you covered everything. If you made it clear Tulane is your #1 choice, that is probably the most important thing, since your stats seem to be in Tulane’s sweet spot and you have the service hours. My guess is you will get good news, assuming the recs are good and there is nothing else lurking out there.

Good luck!

I’ve taken 4 AP’s got a 5 on one and then a 3…taking 2 more I’ve also taken ~16 honors classes.

Wait, I didn’t submit any recs? It never asked me to submit letters of reccomendation

my unweighted is like 3.4

Edit: I did turn in my guidance councelor reccomendation form but that’s not really a letter, is that what you were referring to?

wait, nvm I did send a guidance councelor reccomendation, along with my secondary school report form.

I know I don’t need to send a teacher reccomendation but should I send one? I have one…it’s really generic though do you think it could be a deal breaker?

With your high number of honors courses plus the 6 AP courses you will have, it shows a challenging schedule. That will be very good for you.

The guidance counselor rec is enough. As you say, Tulane doesn’t really require much in the way of recs unless you are going for the highest scholarships, like DHS. I guess they figure no one is going ask a teacher that would send a bad rec, so why bother? Definitely not a deal breaker, you sent what they asked for.

At this point it sounds like you have done everything you could, so just relax, try not to obsess, and see what happens. I think your odds are strong.

Thank you for all your help.
