Chances of getting in?

I am really interested in tulane but not sure about getting in:

around 3.5 gpa unweighted (some c's sophomore year)
best public high school in the city
top 30% of class
hardest course load - full IB diploma candidate
1910 on SAT (630 reading - 650 math - 630 writing)
activities:
2 sports and greens club freshman and sophomore year
school newspaper junior year
volunteering with farm workers summer and senior year (100 + hrs)
catering job summer before junior year - present

VERY interested in public health, specific reason for going here, may send in extra letter about this.

I think you have a decent, encouraging shot, imo. Good luck and keep working hard. Keep us posted. It's fun and helpful knowing "the rest of YOUR story" among young posters.

Match/Reach Its inbetween, closer to reach. Tulane loves high SAT scores, yours arnt that high for them, mabey if you could bring them up 200 points, than your gpa would be perfect for them. This is an encouraging shot you will get in though.

I had verryyy similar stats that you posted.. like almost the same kinda (but I had higher scores/GPA ..barely though [also at top school in city])
but I got waitlisted..
found out today..

Our scores were lower, higher GPA, great rank. Admitted in 3 weeks following the freebie app, and a generous scholarship Go figure.

It's difficult when you are not one of those people preparing for college since freshman year! Nothing I have done was with the intent of impressing colleges, and I suppose maybe I should have done more, but I'm not into this whole packaging yourself for college thing. I just really like tulane and it offers programs that are exactly what I'm looking for that you unfortunatly can't find anywhere else.

Don't give up the ship! I think you've a fair shot, but like all the others, it's total speculation. Give it your best. That's all you can do. But be creative that the folks there might find you a delightful pain in their sitter. Make some joyful noises. You're "smart" enough. Maybe really put something together on your unique experiences, and your vision for your future and why TULANE is so important to that (don't overstate it, but don't understate it either). Now's your time to mount your campaign. Be honest, open, candid, creative. That is always refreshing. What's the WORST thing that can happen? They deny you. Go back and ask them if you could come in January if they do that. What would you have to do to get there. This is NOT the impossible dream at all. Now go and get it. You have a chance to show them really how much you want it and how much you believe you would be a grand Tulane teammate. Pull out your stops and make noise. btw, if you believe in a Creator, ask Him to help you now. He will listen and honor your plans if you're genuine. God owns even ungodly campuses, and never gives up.

Apply. You certainly have a fair shot.

Okay I just got my november SAT scores in:
Reading-700 Math-630 Writing-690
Total: 2020 (I think)

Does that change any chances?

Good chance especially with your new scores

Does anyone know what kind of additional stuff the admissions people want? They talked about art when I went to the info session, anything for the not so artsy?
