My Chances...Probably Similar Stats to Other Deferred Applicants

Hey guys, just wondering if you give me some insight. I'm sure others have similar stats as me!

Status: Deferred (EA) (Applied Undecided - LSA)

SAT: 1890 (670W, 650R, 570M)

GPA: 3.7

RANK: 42 of 360

APs: AP English 11
AP English 12
AP US History
AP Gov
AP Biology

Grades for S1 of Senior Year: AP English: 95 (A)
AP Gov: 91 (A-)
AP Biology: 82 (B-)
Honors Calculus: 90 (A-)
Honors Entrepreneurship: 93 (A)

Other: Out of State, Great Recommendations, Essays and Volunteering

Considering Schools: University of Maryland & Pennsylvania State University

Thanks!

You have a below average GPA, SAT, and you’re out of state. It’s a reach school for sure. The real question is what are your extracurricular activities? If you have a great set with leadership positions, you will stand a much greater chance in UofM admissions.

Your stats are very similar to mine and I got in. : ) My SAT was 1990, with my math also being much lower than my CR and W. Of course, the big difference is that I applied to their School of Art and Design, where school stats and test scores are graded differently (heavier emphasis on your art portfolio). You still stand a chance. What grades did you get on the AP tests (1-5)? Good luck!
