So I initially went to a community college then transferred to SUNY Geneseo, where I currently hold a 3.62 GPA. I’m a Senior, and as a transfer, a majority of my GPA is composed of my upper-level classes which I have taken here, giving my GPA less weight from lower-level classes I would have gotten as a freshman. Will Cornell Law take this into consideration? I feel I can get my GPA up to about a 3.68-3.71 by the time I graduate, but even that puts me on the “lower end” for applying to Cornell Law. Some facts about me, I:
-Am an English Literature major
-Work 10-12 hours a week (I’ve put myself entirely through college and have been working for about 4 years consecutively throughout my schooling)
-Hold two executive board positions (VP for Phi Alpha Delta, Academic Chair for Sigma Tau Delta)
-Was on the rowing team for my entire first year here (15-20 hours a week commitment)
-Interned 40 hours a week at the Corporate Wegmans Summer 2017
I was also super involved at my 2-year college but I feel that’s less relevant here. I’m taking a gap year next year where I’ll be working and studying for/taking my LSAT. I recently bought all the PowerScore bibles and enrolled in their live online LSAT prep course.
Looking back, I’m fairly certain I worked too much my first year at Geneseo (15-20 hours a week) on top of rowing which was a huge commitment and kind of hurt my GPA.
Thank you for your time!
