My chances to transfer to U of I?

Im a sophomore at a community college right now, and I have a 3.1 GPA currently, and if i get a 4.0 this semester i will be bumped up to a 3.4. I want to attend U of I urbana champaign starting my junior year, what are my chances?

I also failed a class my first semester, and was put on academic probation. But the very next semester i got a 3.5 and retook the failed class and got a B.

I didnt do so well in high school.... 21 ACT and 2.2 GPA

I plan to major in cellular and molecular biology, any advice?

Doesn’t hurt to try. They won’t look as closely at HS with two years of college behind you, as far as I know. Good luck!

Assuming you are in-state (in-state are favored in transfers), and you do improve your GPA, and you have all courses required for a transfer (see http://admissions.illinois.edu/pdf/transfer/handbook/las2.pdf</a> and scroll done to Molecular and Cellular Biology) you should have a good chance of acceptance although I would wait to file the application until after you get your first semester grades. Note, high school grades and test score are not used to determine transfer into junior year.

Yes i am in state. What do you think the ideal GPA is for an acceptance to U of I?

bump bump bump
