My chances????

Hi, I am a currently a Junior in High School. So far I have worked hard to earn straight A's throughout my Freshman and Sophomore year. This year I had the misfortune of having 2 B's on my report card due to an academic mishap. I am in all AP classes and the IB program. I am in German 4 AP/IB and next year I shall move on to German 5 AP/IB. I am an avid band member, and I am a leader of the Marching Band. It is said that I am on my way to being the Drum Major next year for the marching band. Also, I am in MUN and on the secretariat (equivalent of leadership). I am part of CSF, Tri-M Music Honors Society (I am VP of this society), German National Honors Society and I am going to be in the National Honors Society. Also, I am 2nd VP of the Pink Ribbon Club at my School. I have over 400 hours of community service and I also tutor. My SAT scores have ranged from 2050-2150. I have yet to take the ACT, but based on my practice test scores I am expecting between a 34 and 36.

Based on the above stated information, I am unsure if I shall be accepted by my dream schools, Harvard, UPenn, and Brown. I have always had it in mind that I would be Valedictorian but this year I messed up grade-wise and I now have 2 B's. I am worried that these 2 grades are going to eliminate me from the pool of applicants that have a legit chance of being accepted. Do you think I can make it with this information? If not, what do I need to do?

This is very important to me. It's all I have ever worked for, and I'm worried that my hopes and dreams will all be eliminated after this school year. I plan on getting all A's next semester as well as Senior year, but I am still skeptical of the admissions.

Do not stress yourself out. According to me you are an ideal future candidate. Those two B’s just might be the tie-breaker between you and a very similar candidate, however, its not all about grades, i see you are involved in your community. Keep that up. Likewise this persistence in German AP will show commitment and determination. That will be in your favor. Now the only advice i can give you is, talk to who you think will be your Recommendation letter writers. Rec letters are quite important for decision making.

You’re stats are pretty strong, so I wouldn’t let the Bs bother you too much.
However, your SATs are a tad low, but if you can get 35-36 on your ACTs, you should be fine.

Good luck =)
