My chances?

GPA- 3.5 (Around a 87% or 88%) Which isnt to bad for my school, very little extra credit is given for AP or honors classes.

Classes- (Some are based on my courses Ill take next year and Ill just put electives where they belong) I have taken advantage of all History, English, and Science AP classes my school offers.

History/Social Sciences- Pre-AP World History , World History, Intro to College Psych/Sociology(Psych is a honors class), AP-US History/Government, Introduction to Anthropology(Online Class), AP-US Government/Politics, Economics, (and an online course that is .5 credits either in The 1960’s or Global Solutions)

English- English 9, Pre-AP English 10, AP-English Language, AP-English Literature

Science (Note: Authentic Science Research is a honors class)- Living Environment (Biology), Earth Science, Authentic Science Research 1, Chemistry, Authentic Science Research 2, AP-Biology, Authentic Science Research 3, (And possibly Astronomy)

Math- Algebra, Geometry, Algebra2/Trigonometry, Advanced Algebra

Foreign Language (Spanish)- Spanish 1 (Middle School), Spanish 2

Gym/Physical Education- 4 years of gym( but earn .5 credits each, so 2 all together)

Health- Health (.5 credit)

Art- Studio in Art

So let’s tally
(I include Social Sciences with History, and my gym, art, and health can be my elective classes even though many of the other classes I took can also classify as electives.)
History/Social Sciences- 5.5 Credits
English- 4 Credits
Science- 7 or possibly 8 Credits
Math- 4 Credits
Foreign Language- 2 Credits
Electives- 3.5 Credits

SAT Scores- I have only taken the PSAT’s, but will take the SAT and hopefully ACT in June. I received a 450 Math, 590 Reading, and 560 Writing. I hope to get Writing and Reading both to 600 and math to 500. And I hope to get a 25-28 on the ACT’s. I also will take the SAT subject test in U.S. History which I should do very well in.
AP Scores- 3 on World History, US History, AP English Lan, AP English Lit, AP Bio, and AP Gov/Politics are still pending.

College Credit- Through my Authentic Science Research program I can receive 6 credits through the University of Albany. And my AP test grades will show if I will get any credit for that. I also am taking (Just got accepted :D) the Pre-Collegiate in Early American History Program through the College of William and Mary where I will earn 4 credits. I also will be in the National Youth Leadership Forum: Careers in National Security, Diplomacy, Intelligence and Defense.

Extra-Curricular- I hike, hunt and weight lifts. I am in the Chess Club and Debate Club. I am becoming a volunteer firefighter soon and I am working on getting into an advisory council run by our State Senator. I attend a after school program where students can get extra help or get lessons from teachers and go deeper into subjects, and stay after school, and I help tutor Global and US History classes.

Sum it up- I plan to do ROTC, and double major in History and Political Science. I plan to apply via early decision and set up an interview. I also come from a lower middle class family where only my mom went to some college (associates degree) and I live in New York in a 'underprivileged town'
Best Wishes, if you have any questions please ask, I hope to see your responses!

That is AP-World History by the way, where I received a 3 on the AP test and a 100 grade all together out of the 4 quarters and regents/final, I also got a 98 on the ‘regents’ (New York equal of a final but it determines whether or not you pass the class)

Not really sure how to map some of your classes, like “Authentic Science Research” - I guess I’d talk with your guidance counselor to make sure that Admissions understands the scope and content of these classes (they probably do, but in the absence of certain knowledge, I wouldn’t want to assume.)

You’ll definitely want to get your standardized test scores up from where they are - the middle 50% of SAT is 1270-1460 for Reading/Math, and 28-32 on the ACT. And remember, SAT’s are super-scored - after taking your June SAT, see where you are, and re-take in October, and try for improvement. The thing about the SAT is you get better just by repeated testings, so you’ll want to get to studying and taking practice exams now.

You’re a bit light on foreign language. I’m no expert, so don’t take my advice too seriously on this - but I’d consider taking an additional Spanish class next year. You also say you’ve exhausted all your high school offers in AP Science - if that’s correct, not sure what can be done, but the conventional wisdom is that you should have Calc, (AP would be good), and perhaps a Physics class. Whatever you choose for senior year, they’ll want to see a challenging schedule.

Also, W&M, at least, doesn’t require SAT-II tests - but some schools do. I wouldn’t discourage you from taking, but I’d suggest you don’t sacrifice SAT/ACT study time for it.

Best of luck!

While doing some research it seems that the SAT’s scores are quite important but It seems that W&M don’t hold them as high as certain things. This is coming from the College board site and some other research I’ve done.
