<p>I have a 3600 EI and an 872 EI what are my chances of getting into sdsu as an international business major with the concentration in Japanese/Asia ? And I am out of state. </p>
<p>I know they are probably not very good but I was hoping my major wouldn't be as popular. That's another question is the international business major concentration Japanese a really popular major? I know business its self is but I feel like international business is a different category. </p>
<p>International Business had 568 applicants and 264 were accepted, which is a 56% acceptance rate vs. 39% acceptance rate for Business Administration with 2747 applicants, so yes you do have a higher chance for an acceptance. Your EI does look a little low since most Business majors need to be around 3900 to be competitive. What is your CSU GPA and SAT/ACT scores??? Are you full-pay since that may help your chances.</p>

<p>What do you mean by full-pay ? And my csu gpa isn’t that good same with my sat/act that is why I just decided to post my EI. also do they not separate the international majors by there concentration. Because on the application they have you pick which area of study you want to go into. So I was hoping the japanese international business major would be even less. Of course that’s not why i picked japanese, I love japan. I just thought that it wouldn’t be as popular. But if not that’s fine.</p>
<p>1) As an OOS student, you will receive no financial aid from SDSU, so being able to pay the full amount of the $30k tuition and fees makes you a more attractive candidate since California schools are looking for extra money.
2) SDSU uses the EI for ranking, but I just wanted to compare ACT and GPA to their average to better gauge your chances. Actually unweighted GPA is also a good indicator when compared to their common dataset. On page 9, the common dataset breaks out % applicants for each GPA range that was accepted.

3) International Business majors are not selected by their emphasis, so your acceptance will be based on your qualifactions against the whole pool of applicants.</p>
<p>Oh ok then I am probably not a full- pay. And my uw gpa is even lower than my csu one. My uw is 3.04 while my w is 3.54 my csu is 3.36. My act comp is 20 and my sat for math and reading is 970. I know that my scores and gpa are very low and my chances are very slim. Sadly I didn’t care what school I went to till I visited sdsu this past summer and fell in love. Then when I went to the tour I talked to the OOS admissions people and they said to aim for a 3600 EI and I would be fine. So this of course made my day because my exact EI. Is 3668. Since then I have been researching and have read all about how business is the hardest and you need 4000 plus. I also called the school recently and they told me 3600 as well so I am really confused. I am also am African American girl, if that makes a difference I don’t think it does but since sdsu prides it’s self on being diverse I was hoping it might help slightly. Of course I am not stupid so I am also applying to sjsu , unlv and uncc which is instate for me. But my parents are moving to Cali after I graduate so I didn’t want to be across the country. <p>SDSU admissions can give you a general EI threshold but it will depend upon the applicant pool each year. If they are giving you encouragement to apply then there is no reason not to give it a try. If you are not Full pay, how do you plan to pay? You can only borrow $27K for the 4 years so your parents will need to come up with rest. Race is not considered for California publics. I wish you Good Luck </p>
<p>Well truthfully I don’t know about the paying thing. I am lucky enough that my parents are helping me with most of it. I have been applying for as many scholarships as I can and I will probably do student loan idk if that is full pay or not</p>
<p>You need an EI of 4100+ to be comfortably in at SDSU. You aren’t going to get in. Hopefully you applied broadly.</p>
