My chances

Hey guys,
I wanted to see what you guys hunk about my chances. OSU is my number one choice and I’m sill under evaluation so I’m starting to get nervous.
Applied: October 31
OOS
Act: 26
Unweighted gpa:4.0/ Weighted: 4.63
Applied for both Morrill and scholars
Major: Biochemistry w/ premed track
Rank:9/302
Race: Indian- first generation college student
EC: NHS, leadership league, senior board, 2 dance teams (1 at Ohio state), men and women of Conner(leadership club for seniors), hospital volunteer
I’ve taken advantage of all honors and AP classes and I’ve been taking college classes at NKU since junior year. I’ll be starting college with 52 credits

Please let me know what you guys think!

Your chances are pretty fair - I’d say definitely over 50%. The 25th percentile for ACTs at OSU is ~27, so you’ll need to makeup for your test scores by other means. Your GPA is solid and you’re a first-generation college student. Any job experience? How are your letters of rec and essay?

I don’t have job experience but I have a lot of volunteering hours. I feel like my essay is well written. I worked with my English teacher and the essay is based on a surgerical program I did this summer. I got my college anatomy professor to write my recommendation!

According to the OSU website, the 25th percentile is actually a 28 on the ACT, and the median is a 30. But your GPA and class rank should make up for the ACT and give you a chance at getting in.

Thank you! I’m just super scared about their decision. OSU has been my dream school for years so I’m just hoping for the best.
