trust me, if you in state, you've got a great shot... i would say that you would be accepted

ya but my gpa is low for engineering. middle 50% is 3.9-4.4

true, but i really think ur high SAT balances out (u've got a good shot, not a 100%); ur best choice, if your worried about getting accepted into state, is to declare an "undecided" intended major for ur NC State application and then try to get into the engineering school. best of luck

thanks, but i kinda already applied like 2 months ago

You're in. My friend has a 3.825 gpa, has like a 1800 SAT and got into NCSU School of Engineering, everybody was surprised including him. His application went under 3 reviews though, so his app. was underreview for about 2 weeks.

douchois, Your chances for engineering are good. Your high math score on the SAT will help you. My S had a higher gpa(4.6) than you but lower score on the math portion of the SAT(660) and he was admitted to engineering 2 years ago.
We were told (by admissions office) that it is not easier to get in college of enginnering by transferring from another college.

nguyen, get your housing application in as soon as possible so you can get your first choice of dorms. My S got his first choice (Owen) but his friend who waited until later to send his in did not get any of his first 3 choices.
Even though the app. says Owen and Tucker are for First Year College students, you can still request it. S was not a FYC major and neither were lots of his other friends who lived there. He loved Owen thought Central campus was definitely the best place to live. Also, the form said you had to choose a dorm from each area (East, West, Central campus) but S really wanted just central so he just put down 3 central campus dorms (by using the paper app. you can do this. The online app. won't let you do it.)

Thanks. My SAT is 60 points higher, but your son's gpa is .9 higher. I think that's still a pretty big difference.

Thanks for the tip Packmom. I sent in my enrollment confirmation form on Sat.

Hey douchois, I think I had a friend who got in with similar stats to you. I'm not sure about your gpa, you might want to get PackMom or someone knowledgeable to evaluate that, but your sat looks good. Good luck.

Btw, douchois...lol, that's an interesting name choice.
