My guidance counselor told me that she thinks I have no chance... am I stupid for even applying?

I don't know what your guidance counselor knows, but from what you've posted here, I'd say you have a superb shot at getting in.

I can't believe your counselor would say that. You have great credentials. Let us know what happens.

your counslor is a moron

yea...i have no clue what your guidance counselor is smoking but you have a very good chance at getting in....(though not guaranteed)...nothing at the top universities is ever a guaranteed acceptance but you do have a very good chance...your sat's are above nd's avg. and your ec's a good

you definitely have a great chance (don't listen to your counselor)- you even have a decent shot at any ive school.. good luck

nah.. you have close to no chance... you're SAT's are so low, and so are your EC's. so that will probably lessen your chances of getting in as well. Perhaps Univeristy of Texas (Avg. SAT: 900)

My SAT 2's went up to 800/710/690.... will this make any difference?

You were almost a guarantee before, can't get much better than that.

kent, along with your guidence consulor is a moron...

You're definitely in. I was told that my shot would probably be a deferral...but I got in and I wss told I was in the top of their EA pool. So do not always listen to the Guidance Counselor.

I see no reason why you won't get in, as long as you're the type of person they're looking for (i.e. caring, sincere, compassionate, but you don't have to be Catholic). My German teacher who went there said something to this effect. I would try to get some kind of community service experience (even though it's too late for your app); something like 10% of students there volunteer full-time after graduation from ND.
