I applied to LSA for pre-education. Good recs (including one from my principal who went to UMICH) and essays.

here's the thing..I come from a top public school in nj.. it is impossible to get all A's in the classes I take. And i know UM re-calculates GPA in that wierd way. Although everyone tells me I should be in, the recalculated GPA thing really really worries me. Anyone have any comments? What are my chances? and when do you think i should hear?

Hello Wini, you are a solid candidate. you applied early enough. Your SAT is certainly above the Michigan average. Michigan only looks at unweighed GPA. If it is over 3.6, you are ok. If it is over 3.8, you are in great shape. Your class rank is slightly below the top 10%. 90% of Michigan's student's graduated in the top 10% of their class. But that should not hurt you. I think you have a very realistic chance. Good luck and keep us posted.

Sounds good enough to me! Good E.C's y'know? Good GPA also! You go to a PUBLIC school with a class size of 162? That's crazy! Most public schools I know have class sizes between 400 and 1062. pretty good SAT's and SAT II's. But what SAT II's and AP's did ya take? And did you take the AP exams yet? And how many AP's? We need more info there.

my public school has 140 kids per grade
