my chances?

I'm a white student from Florida, starting to apply.

Academics:

I've got a 4.25 GPA(probably higher, once you control for non-academics),

a 760 Math, 750 Reading, 680 Writing for a Total of 2190 on the SAT, and an 8 on the essay

Volunteer:

plan on 180 hours from volunteering at a library, a few dozen from a service project getting gifts to needy children that I started, and a few more dozen from a smattering of small activities for a total in the 230-250 range

Clubs/EC's:

two years of Tennis(junior/senior)
Beta Club member(probably President next year)
Math Club
Trivia Team Captain

I've also worked retail for a year now, will be two by the time I leave for school.

I'll also be top 10% of my class and have 3 APs in Statistics, Calculus BC, and Chemistry, all 4s or 5s, and have completed the Cambridge AICE Academic prep program... which is basically IB but sponsored by Cambridge University. I think it recieves the same weight as IB. In any case, that's 9-10 IB-level courses from junior to senior year and all honors courses my first two years of high school(which explains my high GPA).

I'm really stressing this... I got home from visiting GA Tech this evening and fell in love. What do you think my chances are? Thanks!

highly likely. Apply early for PS. Spend time on application to make it good. Your writing/essay could come up some.

I’ll be retaking the SAT as well as the Subject tests and the ACT in the coming months… but that’s where I have a problem. The next SAT test dates I have available are in early October- which is after the deadline if I want early notification!

My SAT scores are above the 75th percentile for GA Tech students right now, I know… so should I just not worry about waiting and apply early anyway, to get early notice, or would waiting for a slightly higher score(which I am confident I can earn) be a better option?

You are in!

Looks good. REst assure that you will be at GT next year!

Just out of curiosity, what’s the unweighted GPA?
