My Chances

OK, here are the stats:

3.3 GPA at an elite NE boarding school

Huge rising trend (awful soph year, awesome junior year)

2100 SAT (750 V, 800 W, 550 M)

SAT IIs in US History (750), World History (750), English Lit (700)

White, upper class, no minority status (but no FA required)

Varsity in football and lacrosse (but not good enough for college)

Very few ECs - Newspaper, Tour Guide, one CS organization

Solid AP scores in US History, World History, European History, both English (and planning to take Psychology and Macroeconomics next spring)

Very good writer, but did not make Honors in Junior year due to awful soph year/not turning in HW (despite being better writer than 99% of the Honors students)

Very bad math student

Do I have a shot at...

Northwestern
Macalester
Wisconsin
Tulane
Willamette
UVA (Legacy)
St. Andrew's
U. of Puget Sound
U. of Colorado

You have a very good SAT W+CR combo, but your Math is bringing it down. You're also lucky becaues Math is the most coachable subject and either by taking a class, or self studying (both require taking some practice tests), you can raise your SAT to a very competitive level. Also, the fact that your grades have been increasing is a plus so work hard(er) your senior year.

:)

Northwestern's a super reach, Macalester's a reach and Colorado's a safety, but the rest all look like matches to me. If you raise the Math SAT you should have a shot at UVA as well.

....Bump..

GPA=too low for out of state UVA
