Hello!
I'm Lilly, and I currently live in Virginia. As now a rising senior in high school I'm trying to figure out what schools I'll be applying to. As of now I consider Notre Dame a "reach" school, especially financially. With that said how good is ND's financial aid? And is there a specific "person" they look for? Also as of now how good of a chance do I have of getting in, or being waitlisted? Also, my grandfather and uncle both went there, and my uncle donates money to them also.. so would that count as legacy?
- National Honor Society (11)
- Beta Club (10,11)
- Key Club (11)
- Cross Country (9,10,11)
- Indoor Track (9,10,11)
- Outdoor Track (9,10,11)
- French Club (9,10)
- French Club VP (10)
- French Congres Representative (8,10)
- Advisory Council (9,10,11)
- 4.1 GPA (weighted, no clue unweighted probably 3.7?)
- Top 7% in class (out of 315 students)
- Haven't gotten my SAT scores back, but probably around 1850
So chances of getting in?

low sat otherwise you are alright…

although gpa’s in high school can mean so many different things.

you should shoot for above a 2100 (33 or so act) for a good shot to get in. but everybody is different and admissions committees can do strange things!

I was in the top 8 % of my class and was admitted so that is right on target I’d say. But if you are expecting an 1850 on the SAT you are definitely going to want to get that up to 700 on each section in order to have a good shot at admission.

As for financial aid, Notre Dame is one of the best schools I’ve come across for financial aid. My family had a tough situation financially that was not shown by our fafsa, and we sent a letter to all of my college explaining this situation. Notre Dame was the only one that adjusted my financial aid and they made it extremely doable for my family. They will make it possible for your family. Don’t expect a full ride, but they will definitely be fair.

I hope this helps! Good luck this fall!

Just a heads up, ND has made it clear that they only assign legacy status if your parent graduated from the school. So, sorry, but you’re not a legacy.

That being said, your app looks pretty good. Definitely work on those SAT scores, and also take some subject tests.
