My Chances

Hi everyone, I'll be applying for schools in a couple months and I'm still quite very nervous that I won't get into any schools. Please consider my stats to the schools I'm applying to:

Grade: Upcoming senior GPA: 3.2 Class Rank: 35/200 SATs: 1500

Volunteering: 100+ hours at Hackensack Medical Center, 50+ Rutherford Borough, Rutherford Cheering Camp, Coached RJF Competition Cheerleading, helped out at the Dalai Lama's visit to Philadelphia in 2008

Sports: 4 years Fall & Winter Cheerleading including Competition Cheerleading, Captain for my Jr and Sr year and 1 year of Softball

Clubs: FCCLA, President for Jr and Sr year, FBLA,Latin Club, Heroes and Cool Kids, Model UN, Political Club, Biology Club, Chemistry Club and Harverster's Club

Schools I'm applying to: Rutgers New Brunswick & Newark, Penn State (University Park and smaller campuses such as Abington), Pace University, UMich, UMASS Amherst & Boston, TCNJ and Northeastern (my reach school)

Thank you in advance everyone!

I think that you’ll get accepted to your schools. You may want to raise up some stats like your GPA/class rank, but even if you don’t, I think you’ll do fine. You don’t need to be a perfect SAT 4.0 student to go to a good college.

^Bad/careless chancing above

You’ll have to fight, and fight hard on your app to get accepted to Northeastern.

If you want to chance me…

You won’t get into UMich and will probably not get into UMass. Sorry.

^Agreed. Michigan is out of the question. You need to raise that 1500 SAT score.

Is that 1500/2400?
Rutgers NB was brutal last year- not a safety. Maybe Newark.
So was Penn State UP, but probably OK for Abington.
Michigan- no Northeastern no
UMass Amherst, prob no, but Boston yes
TCNJ-?

I think tal1213 was assuming SAT was 1500/1600, in which case he was correct in chancing. If it is 1500/2400, then no way at the competitive schools.
