what would you say my chances are for RD? i really like Wes :/

Strong match/reach. The only reason you're not a match is that you're a woman and twice as many women as men apply to Wesleyan every year. Since it is school policy to try to reach a 50:50 m/f ratio, the process is especially hard on the ladies. My advice is if Wesleyan appeals to you, to apply anyway--you definitely have a shot.

bfinder - if i read your previous threads right, you're at wesleyan now?? you got in off the wait list or something?? would you mind briefly telling me about this/posting your stats, thanks

yeah, i'm a freshman now...my stats were good but my essay was so-so and i didn't really show any schools that i was interested in them (until i was wait listed at wes and went all out) except the one i thought i wanted to go to...which wasn't wes. I realized too late that the schools that i got into, and thought i wanted to go to, were nothing close to wesleyan. i love it here. So, i guess advice wise, don't put off figuring out where you REALLY want to go. i was way to timid to overnight or anything (just because i figured that nobody really did that) but it's not a big deal at all -- the students love having a pre-frosh that they can take out with them...so visit everywhere, overnight wherever possible, write a unique essay that shows depth and voice, and, to a certain extent, listen to steriotypes about schools. As bad, and un-wesleyan, as that sounds - for the most part, they are accurate and exist for a reason. Tufts and Emory, where i thought i wanted to go, have reputations for being very jappy and, true to form, they really are. i would have hated both of them, but figured that i'd ignore the steriotypes because i liked the feels, but really i was blind to what i didn't want to see. keep your eyes open, read the guidebooks, and visit, visit, visit and walk around the campus without your parents.

anyway, what you're actually interested in:
SAT: 1430 (730M, 700V)
GPA: 3.8
SATII: Writing: 700, IC: 690, BIO: 730
Really good recs, ok essay

umm, i don't know what else you want but feel free to ask.

ohh, yeah, and ED, ED, ED
everyone gets in early now at schools, and a lot of schools are filling a huge chunk of their incoming freshman classes early. Even ED II...it gives you the same chances as ED 1.
