my chances

obviously, i want to know my chances on getting into the school, god, this is insanity, ok

gpa: currently a 4.3 weighted but will probably be higher after senior year (im a junior)
have taken ap gov, apush, ap physics, ap art history,
will take: ap lit, ap calculus, ap environmental science, ap euro
all other classes are honors

extra-curriculars: (nothing too impressive)
rowing team
yearbook club
big brother big sister
honors and service society
about 200 community service hours but i will try to raise that
internship in architecture firm

sats (taken beginning of sophomore year- will retake)
math: 700
writing : 700
critical reading : 790

Question: how much of your senior grades goes towards the gpa you send to colleges? how does that work out?

Sounds like you’re taking and plan to take some great courses and that you’re doing well in them and it’s great that you’ve already taken an SAT as a first semester junior so you’re planning well and it sounds like you have some academic credentials that are indicative of W&M’s pool.

We would encourage you continue on the path you’re already on and maintain the courses, grades and involvements you have now. The GPA/rank that you report to colleges is the one from the end of your junior year. Most application deadlines come before your first-semester senior grades are available. So colleges will see those grades and any new GPA/rank that’s associated with them but they see that late in the process.

Hope this is helpful.
