heh thats just life though..they were wanted more..

Well, I'm a Varsity athlete (baseball) with all Ivy-worthy grades and stats. That said, I'm not so sure I really want to play college baseball. Do you think I could still use the varsity sport to my advantage even if I really have no interest in pursuing it? It still looks good on the app, from where I stand...

yeah you can cite all the sports youve done and awards youve gotten and if they try to recruit you just say that youd rather not. sports can only work positively for you.

you'd have to be really really good to be recruited though. a friend last year who broke our school record and placed in states for swimming was trying to get recruited by upenn, but the coach wouldn't even respond. then again, columbia might be different

Well, I'll put it on the app for sure. I should call the coach anyway, I can always quit the team once I'm accepted.

If you want to be a recruited athlete.. don't you have to be like REALLY REALLYYYY REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYY AMAZINGLY GOOD?

A swimmer at our school applied Penn ED... she said that she wouldn't even qualify for the swimming.. cus she's not "olympic" standards..

Careera, you posted:
"I don't know everything, but this is what I do:

SAT: 1320
SATII writing: 600
SATII Math IC: 640
SATII Lit: 620

Grades were high Bs throughout highschool, and low A in the first quarter of senior year."

Is this your stats or the athelete who got recruited into columbia?

well if they recruit you for the team, quitting it would be possible...but definitely not something they would appreciate

That is his stats...

They don't have to appreciate it once I'm in...
