My College Acceptances story

Here goes!
I applied to mainly all California schools, which is where I’m from and where I want to study.
I have a 3.9 gpa, a 1900 SAT, a 30 ACT, and got incredible teacher recommendations. My essays were as well written as I could’ve possibly done and my extracurriculars in high school have included mission trips to Haiti, competitive horseback riding and showing, piano, peer tutoring, paid independent tutoring, and more.

I applied to : UC’s Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Santa Cruz, Santa Barbara, Merced. Both Cal Poly SLO and Pomona. Fresno State, as a backup. That’s about it.

Accepted to: both Cal Poly’s, UC Santa Cruz, UC Merced.

Rejected from: Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Santa Barbara, and Fresno State.

I plan on attending Cal Poly SLO as a freshman in Animal Sciences this upcoming fall.

I am also a California resident and only applied to CA schools. UC/CSU GPA 3.73 ACT 31 10 AP and 4 Honors classes. My essays were decent but could have been better. EC’s included Soccer, Xcountry, volunteering at a local historical society where I helped design brochures. Took a C++ programming class and IOS programming class. Applied as a CS major.

Applied: 1st Choice Cal Poly SLO (ED), UCI, UCD, UCSB, UCR, SJSU, SDSU, CSUF, CSULB and CPP (safety)

Accepted: UCR (Chancellor’s Scholarship)/SJSU/CSUF/CSULB/SDSU/CPP
Deferred from ED: SLO then rejected
Rejected: UCI/UCSB/UCD

I plan on attending SDSU for CS and super excited. Parents are full pay but had saved with a 529 plan so I will come out debt free yeah!!
