My college doesn't offer the language that I want is there any other way to take it

I am currently an Anthropology student at YSU. My major requires me to take at least 6 s.h. credits in a foreign language. I’m currently learning Japanese but YSU does not offer Japanese as a language. It’s hard enough learning one language at a time, let alone learning two just because I’m being forced to choose a language offered by my school. Is there any way that I would be able to take my 6 s.h. credits elsewhere and transfer them in to my college?

Sorry for the late reply, but you could definitely do a study abroad program in Japan for college credits, if you have the money. Then again, there are always scholarships as well. Talk to your college’s study abroad advisor; you could do a summer program as well.

The OP hasn’t been active since last July, but for anyone who may need it in the future: As far as study abroad scholarships for Japanese, look into the Critical Language Scholarship, the Boren Scholarship, the Gilman Scholarship, and the Freeman-ASIA Scholarship. You could coordinate with the study abroad office to make sure the credits will transfer back to your school.
