My college list and my stats... help?

hello :)

Does this list sound okay? Anything to add/ take away?
*I want to major in biology
*I want a small school
*and I want it to be on the more liberal side.

COLLEGES I'M CONSIDERING:
-Warren Wilson
-University of MD College Park → I DO NOT want to go here if it can be helped
-College of the Atlantic
-Bates
-Bard
-St. Mary's (MD)
-Hampshire College
-Earlham
-Beloit
-Oberlin (I had family go here, so I'm gonna apply even if it is a reach)
-Bard College at Simon's Rock
-Marlboro
-Reed... I know, there's no way... but just in case...
-Green Mountain College (VT)

Here are my stats:

GPA (unweighted): 3.45
SAT: 1780 ***
CR: 620
M: 550
W: 610
***I'm retaking these and plan on raising my math score by ATLEAST 40-50 points and hopefully the other two as well. I do really well on practice tests (high 600's to 700's) but on the actual thing I FREAK OUT and run out of time or blank out... :( [anyone know anyway to stop this?]

AP CLASSES:
-English 11
-English 12
-Biology (double period with labs)
-World History
-Environmental Science

EXTRACURRICULARS:
-piano
-mountain climbing
-I'm in a youth movement
-I hike a lot
-I help my mom (she does water monitoring and other research things)

How much will your parents pay each year?

If you don’t know ask.

If your parents won’t pay $50k per year for your college choice, then do you have a financial safety school (one that you know you can afford)?

my great aunt is paying, so as of right now money isn’t an issue.

Pay attention to MOM2COLLEGEKIDS – Sit down with your Aunt and parents and run the EFC numbers. It is great that your Aunt plans on paying, however, college costs have escalated so high that many adults are hit with the reality in the spring and then have to tell the student many schools are no go. A Private school will cost $50,000/year with room & Board.

Liberal – Most colleges are liberal just given the age population. How liberal and it what ways? Liberal on drug policing in dorms? Or liberal in political slant only?

TAKE AWAY
I assume you’re a MD resident and that is why of U of MD is on the list. If I am wrong, then immediately get rid of it – no purpose to keeping a school that meets none of your criteria.

Simon’s Rock – Have you visited? It is a great school for those skipping junior or senior year of high school, but those graduating 12th may find it socially not a fit.

Oberlin/Reed – Mega reaches. You may want to choose just one of these.

ADD
Did you consider GOUCHER? Since I assume you are a MD resident, I expect you may have considered it, but in case not, I encourage you to take a look.

URSINUS in PA (SAT optional; though if you want to report your scores are just above the reported 25% range) – School is not very politically, but liberal in the sense that dress in very casual.

MY FAV on your list if you are a MD resident is St. Mary’s! Do Not get rid of that one!

Consider Macalester, another excellent school.

Consider some state schools too.

If you are in MD, what about UM-BC?

Which county in MD? Which aspect of Biology? The Bio-tech programs at Montgomery College - Germantown Campus could be a good ultra-safety if it is commuting distance for you.

You need to ask your aunt how much she’ll pay…SHE may have NO IDEA that privates cost $50k+ per year.

She’s your GREAT aunt. That suggests that she’s older. She may think college costs $20k per year.
